The bands had to lug their equipment for blocks just to get there and the expected crowds never did materialize, but in true "show must go on" fashion they rocked anyway and those that did attend were treated to the best bands that NYC had to offer.
Our hats off to all the musicians who proved that night just what the word "professional" means (every one of the bands we had scheduled to play were there) and to all of the fine support staff who helped to make it all happen. You guys rule!
A second evening was scheduled for Labor Day weekend (a major mistake in hindsight) after which the series was ended due to the lack of attendance and the emergence of the bigger (and much better funded) "River to River" summer festival. But we did do it first.
